51st FIJET World Congress in Shanghai, China (Oct. 9 - 15, 2009)

NOTE: The program was changed on March 24, 2009 and is subject to change anytime prior to the Congress.

Day 1: Oct. 9，Fri.
- Arrival of participants /The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai
- Meet and greet at the airport, transfers, accommodation all day
- Welcome party at The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai.
Day 2: Oct. 10, Sat.
- 8:00 - 9:00 Morning Executive Committee meeting
- 9:00 - 9:30 Board of Directors meeting
-10:00 -10:30 Opening Ceremony
> -10:30 - 12:00 General Assembly of the 51st FIJET World Congress at The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai
-Lunch at the Lvbolang Dimsum Restaurant and sightseeing tour of Yuyuan Garden & Old Town, free late afternoon
- Meeting of Executive Committee
- Board of Directors meeting
- Welcome dinner hosted by China National Tourism Administration at the Portman Ritz-Carlton

Day 3: Oct. 11, Sun.
- Visit World Expo 2010 Shanghai Exhibition Center and the site of the future World Expo 2010 Shanghai
- Lunch
- View from the Observation Floor of Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower & Shanghai History Museum
- Huangpu River Cruise, free late afternoon
- Evening: An Multimedia Acrobatic Show - "ERA - An Intersection of Time" at Shanghai Circus World

Day 4: Oct. 12, Monday
- Departure from Shanghai to Suzhou, known as Venice of the Orient, A City of Chinese Classic Gardens and Hometown of Silk
- Visit Silk Embroidery Research Institute or Silk Spinning Factory, Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum
- Night visit of Master of Nets Garden to enjoy Suzhou traditional local operas
- Overnight stay in Suzhou

Day 5: Oct. 13, Tuesday
- Morning departure from Suzhou for Hangzhou - the Paradise City on Earth, visited by Marco Polo.
- Visit Linying Temple, Dragon Well Tea Plantation and cruise on West Lake
- Overnight stay in the picturesque city of Hangzhou by West Lake

Day 6: Oct. 14, Wed.
- Departure from Hangzhou to Fengjing - An Ancient Watertown within Shanghai
- After lunch at Fengjing, return to The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai
- Free late afternoon for delegates to explore more of Shanghai (Opional: Visit local families)
- Farewell dinner hosted by Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration at The Portman Ritz-Carlton

Day 7: Oct. 15, Thu.
- Departure for home or start of post-congress tours (Three options)
(For those who will depart Shanghai either for home or post-congress tours via Shanghai Pudong Int'l Airport will take a Maglev Train ride.)
