Statiuni balneo cu OPTBR - cazare si tratament

The Organization of Spa Owners’ in Romania (OPTBR) was set up in 1993, following the initiative of several representatives of the main health resorts in Romania, supporters of the health tourism activity, who wished to promote this sector of the tourism on its well deserved position within the tourism industry and to represent their interests in relation to the Authorities, with different other institutions and associations, on internal level as well as abroad.

The “founding members” came from well known spas, such as: Baile Herculane, Baile Felix, Govora, Calimanesti-Caciulata, Sangiorz Bai, Vatra Dornei, Mangalia, Sovata, Lacu Sarat, Slanic-Moldova, Buzias, etc.

Presently, OPTBR has 58 members, representing nearly all spas in the country.

The Managing Council includes:

- President: Mr. Nicu Radulescu
- Prime vicepresident Mr. Mihai Handolescu - S.C. Govora S.A.
- Vice presidents: Mr. Sorin Bosneag – Lacul Sarat, Mr. Liviu Scarlat – Mangalia, Mr. Daniel Pasat – Vatra Dornei, Mr. Constantin Necsoiu – Calimanesti Caciulata, Mr. Florin Serac – Baile Felix, Mr. Filip Raiescu – Baile Herculane, Mr. Janos Fulop – Sovata.
- Supleant members: Mr.Cristian Ionescu - Amara, Mr. Sorin Munteanu – Buzias.
President of Honour:Mr. Liviu Marius Miresan, .

The main targets of the Organization:

- Representation, sustaining and protection of the interests of its members in relation to the public authorities, with trade unions; promoting a favorable image of its members.
- Management of the relations with the other associative structures such as owners’ associations, professional, for securing of a loyal competition.
- Representation of its members in the specific international organizations and supply of useful information for the development of the investments.
- Creation of public – private partnerships regarding mobilization of structural funds addressed to the development of the spas after Romanian adhesion to UE.
- Improvement of the business environment for health resort by promotion of the legislative initiatives addressed to encourage the investments in this field. Cooperation with other institutions local and foreign, by:
- Organizing of courses and collaboration to highly qualified personnel for the health tourism;
- Realization or cooperation to marketing studies and research, programs, projects;
- Local and international promotion of the health patrimony;
